Market Leaders | Most Units Sold | November 2019

Leading the way with four units sold in November was Somerset House in Friendship Heights. The luxury building at the gated Parc Somerset community represents the epitome of “country club” style living. Sales in November ranged from $770,000 for a roomy one-bedroom flat to $3,715,000 for a luxurious 3-bedroom, 4-bath residence with a 3,623 square foot floorplan that translates to a very sturdy $1,025 per square foot. Two buildings are tied for second place with three sales each: The Columbia in the West End and The Pennsylvania in Penn Quarter. Of the three closings at the Columbia, the most expensive was Unit #623, a luxurious corner penthouse with 3-bedrooms, 2.5-baths and a private roof deck accessible by spiral stairs. Listed at $1,490,000, the residence closed at $1,505,000. The Pennsylvania’s closings were all one-bedroom units, ranging from $403,000 to $462,000.

Five buildings tied for third place with two sales each. They are: Lionsgate in Bethesda, Northumberland in Dupont Circle, Solo Piazza in Logan Circle, Union Row in the U Street Corridor and the Ritz-Carlton Georgetown in Georgetown. It is worth noting that the two sales at the Ritz-Carlton Georgetown include Unit #PH2D, the highest priced sale in November at a whopping $6.5 million as well as the month’s highest list price, Unit #2F, which already closed at full price at $4,250,000.

Closing out this section are five buildings with at least one closing each: Chase Point in Chevy Chase, the Chinese Embassy in Dupont Circle, Clara Barton in Penn Quarter, Lofts 14 in Logan Circle and Dumbarton Place in Dupont Circle. Unit #31 at Dumbarton Place is a beautifully renovated 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath apartment with a sunroom that listed for $1,599,900 and closed at an even $1.6 million, making it one of the highest sales of the month.
