Turnberry Tower |Market Pulse | May 2024

A superb location and an astonishing array of amenities combine to make Turnberry Tower one of the DC area’s perennially popular condominium communities. Designed by Robert Swedroe and completed in 2009, this sleek glass and steel tower overlooks the Potomac River in Arlington’s Rosslyn neighborhood. In addition to the incredible views and luxury lifestyle experience, Turnberry Tower is also conveniently close to the Rosslyn Metro Station as well as Key Bridge, leading across the river to Georgetown.

Popping up on the active market in May is Unit #1801 with an asking price of $1.5 million. The two-bedroom, two-bath flat features a large and open 1,754 square foot layout, with a private elevator, soaring ceilings, and massive windows. Tile floors are throughout the main living areas with cream carpet in the bedroom suites. There is also a separate laundry room, and an expansive balcony with cityscape views.

Also new in May is Unit #707 with the competitive asking price of $860,000. The 1,404 square foot floorplan includes one bedroom, a den with pocket doors that can also be used as a second bedroom, and two exquisite full baths. Lovely hardwood floors run throughout the apartment, and the open gourmet kitchen features Snaidero cabinetry, stone counters, and Miele and Sub-Zero appliances. Dine inside, or out on the balcony!

Still available after listing in April is Unit #702 with an asking price of $1,799,000. This oversized F-model condo offers 2,227 square feet of luxurious living space, including two bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and a den that can be used as a third bedroom. A 300 square foot private terrace adds even more depth. Other features include a gourmet kitchen, direct access elevator, diagonally laid hardwood floors, and secure parking.

Unit #1109 is currently listed at $1,175,000. The one bedroom, two full bath apartment has a bonus den/study with a Murphy bed, allowing for extra sleeping space. Porcelain tile floors, marble baths, and a big terrace with glimpses of the river add to the appeal of this 1,642 square foot residence. The open gourmet kitchen is also notable, with custom built-in Snaidero cabinetry, and Miele and Sub-Zero panelized appliances.

Unit #512 is now in Active Under Contract status, meaning that it is pending with contingencies and can be considered for backup offers. The 1,742 square foot D Model with two bedrooms and two baths, is listed at $1.2 million. Features include custom millwork, elegant marble, and granite elements, and a 314 square foot private balcony. There is a private elevator, but no assigned parking.

Unit #TS02 is also now pending. The spectacular Tower Suite penthouse had been listed at $3,350,000, and features three bedrooms, 3.5 baths, a private elevator, soaring ceilings, and lovely hardwood floors. The 3,100 square feet of living space is complemented by custom wall finishes, a stunning gourmet kitchen, a sweeping terrace, and a primary suite with a marble fireplace, dressing room, and ensuite marble bath.

Unit #1606 remains pending with a closing scheduled for mid-June. The one-bedroom apartment with two baths and a bonus den/office with a Murphy bed, had been listed at $1,175,000. Porcelain tile floors, a revamped kitchen, a modern white-on-white ambience, and an expansive private terrace are part of the package.

Unit #1508 is temporarily off the market after multiple price cuts, from $1,125,000 all the way down to $900,000. The one-bedroom apartment with 1.5 baths and a generous 1,312 square foot layout also has $185,000 in upgrades including new extra-wide plank knotty wood floors, custom built-ins, and full height wainscoting. We’ll keep tabs to see if this one reappears.

There were no closings at Turnberry Tower in May.
