December 3, 2012 saw the closing of Penthouse 2B at the Ritz-Carlton’s West End property at a record low of $1,275,000.
The three bedroom, 3 full bath, 2,485 square foot residence spanned 3 levels featuring a large outdoor roof terrace with Cathedral views. The property was in rather rough condition, not typical of Ritz standards, and a savvy buyer took advantage of the opportunity snatching it up just six days after it was listed. The resulting price per square foot was a meager $513 making this the “best deal” in the building in years.
Bad News For The Neighbor
Penthouse 2C, literally right next door and the same floor plan as 2B, was purchased in May of 2008 for a whopping $2,150,000. In 2012, 2C was listed for $2,185,000 and subsequently reduced to $1,999,000. It remained unsold after 247 days until it rented in December for a reported $10,000 per month.
