Modern Living at Wooster and Mercer Lofts

Wooster and Mercer | Market Pulse | July 2020

Developed by Abdo and designed by Cunningham Quill Architects, The Wooster and Mercer Lofts are one of Arlington’s perennially popular condo communities. Located along trendy Clarendon Boulevard in the Rosslyn neighborhood, this handsome brick complex offers a retro industrial vibe, including repurposed 140 year-old bricks from the old Children’s Museum in Washington, now used as intriguing interior accents. The complex is always in demand, with new listings few and often far between. In fact, there is only one available unit as of this writing.

Unit #W107 is a new Life At The Top listing in July, priced at $750,000. The one-bedroom, one-bath residence enjoys a spacious 1,123 square foot layout with gleaming hardwood floors throughout. Overhead ductwork and reclaimed brick accents add to the chic appearance. Giant 12-pane windows in the living area allow in plenty of natural light. A sublime gourmet kitchen features dark granite counters and island, a striking mosaic backsplash, and Viking and Sub-Zero appliances. Glass doors lead to an attractive bedroom with walk-in closet. The en-suite bath has a honed marble vanity, designer fixtures and a large walk-in shower. The apartment comes with one parking space plus storage.

Unit #W406 entered the market in July and is already pending, with an anticipated August close. The one-bedroom penthouse has 1,642 square feet of living space, including a bonus den and two full baths. Listed at $1,195,000, the residence features soaring ceilings and a gourmet modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances. Floating stairs lead up to the loft master bedroom, en-suite bath and den. There’s also a private rooftop terrace. Two parking spaces are included.

Unit #W109 was also a new listing in July before going under contract. The one-bedroom apartment with 1.5 baths, was priced at $900,000 and has 1,150 square feet of living space. Positioned at the ground level, the unit has French doors leading out to an 800 square foot private patio. Other features include hardwood floors, 11-foot ceilings and a gourmet kitchen with granite counters and an extended breakfast bar. The bedroom has direct access to a bathroom with a granite twin-sink vanity. The powder room bath adds another level of convenience. One parking space is included.

There were no closings in July at Wooster & Mercer. The most recent sale was in June, when Unit #W204 sold for the full asking price of $877,000. The Wooster residence has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and 1,270 square feet of living space. Hardwood floors run throughout the apartment, with massive factory-style windows and a chef’s style kitchen with Sub-Zero and Wolfe stainless steel appliances. The limestone bathrooms feature Waterworks fixtures.

The trendy Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor is comprised of five urban villages. Electric trolley rail arrived in the early 1900s, leading to residential development. But it was the modern advent of the Metrorail system that spurred present day growth and popularity, with stations located in Rosslyn, Courthouse, Clarendon, Virginia Square and Ballston. Residents at the Wooster Mercer are able to stroll to a wealth of area attractions, including popular bars and restaurants. Condominium amenities include a swimming pool, front desks and concierge, club room, fitness center, courtyards and a dog park.
