Topping the list for the highest price per square foot in October is Unit #601 at Muse in Old Town Alexandria. This was one of three condos sold at the brand new mixed-use development. The 1,694 square foot residence with two bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a den, and two balconies, sold for $1,986,000, translating to $1,172.37 per square foot. Muse is also home to the new offices of The Art League as well as the Metro Stage Theatre. Second place goes to Unit #PH 13 at the Residences at Market Square in Penn Quarter. The recently renovated one-bedroom, one-bath penthouse with just 538 square feet of living space is proof positive that good things can come in small packages. The residence with its open floorplan and tidy gourmet kitchen boasts a wonderful private balcony overlooking Pennsylvania Avenue, affording true Washington power perch views of the July 4 fireworks, the Inaugural Parade and other DC events. It listed for $519,900 and sold for $530,000, equaling $985.13 per sq. ft., and also took fifth place in the list to sales ratio at 101.94 percent of asking.

In third place is Unit #908 at The Columbia in the West End neighborhood. Offered at $1,395,000. The stunning duplex with two bedrooms, two baths, and 1,550 square feet of living space went under contract in just two days, closing at $1.4 million, or $903.23 per square feet. Bonus points for the expansive private rooftop deck. Nabbing fourth place in the size category as well as the fourth highest overall sales price is Unit #327 at Gaslight Square in Rosslyn. The penthouse duplex with private elevator, two bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and 1,922 sq. ft. of living space sold for $1.6 million or $832.47 per square foot.

Fifth place goes to Unit #909 at Solo Piazza in Logan Circle. The one-bedroom, one-bath penthouse with soaring 12 foot ceilings and 748 feet of sublime living space sold for $600,000 or $802.14 per square foot. The sweet pad with its travertine floors also has a curved balcony with skyline views. Closing out the list is Unit #1002 at Somerset House in Chevy Chase. The spacious 1,952 square foot apartment with two bedrooms, 2.5 baths, giant curved window walls and a private terrace sold for $1,550,000 or $794.06 per sq. ft.
