Located in Washington, DC’s West End neighborhood is a unique mixed-use community. The Columbia was once known as The Columbia Hospital for Women. But the century-old Italianate complex was renovated and expanded, resulting in 225 luxury condos as well as ground floor retail, including a Trader Joe’s market.

Newly listed in January is Unit #436, a 2-bedroom, 2-bath corner residence with 1,354 square feet of living space. Blonde wide-plank hardwood floors, an open Chef’s kitchen with Sub-Zero and Viking appliances, bay windows, a balcony, and luxury marble baths are all part of the picture, priced at $1,125,000.

Also still active is Unit #936. This stunning two-story penthouse offers 2-bedrooms, 2-baths, 1,789 square feet of living space and a large private rooftop terrace. The asking price was recently reduced down to $1,449,000.

There was one closing in January. Unit #730 listed for $1,285,000 and settled at $1,225,000. The 2-bed, 2-bath corner apartment boasts rich dark hardwood floors, matching kitchen cabinets, Sub-Zero, Viking and Miele appliances, marble baths, walk-in closets and a balcony.

Lastly are two expired listings. Unit #308 with 2-bedrooms, 2-baths and 1,213 square of living space was priced at $794,900. Unit #301 is a 1-bedroom, 1-bath with 745 square feet and had been reduced twice, winding up at $439,950 before lapsing on January 1.

Located at 2425 L Street, the Columbia offers plenty of amenities to its residents, including a rooftop pool, a gym, billiards room, front desk and concierge service. There’s also the downstairs Trader Joe’s as well as neighborhood attractions like the West End Independent Art House Cinema and numerous restaurants.
