Topping the Washington area list of highest priced closings in June is an extraordinary penthouse at Somerset House in Friendship Heights. Unit #PH18B has three bedroom, 3.5 baths, a cherry paneled library and a show-stopper gourmet kitchen and breakfast room designed by Jennifer Gilmore. With a sales price of $3,375,000, this incredible residence with gleaming hardwood floors, curved window walls and a 900 square foot private roof terrace, was one of five closings at Somerset House for the month. The two-bedroom, two-bath apartment came to market on June 8 at $2,695,000, immediately received an accepted offer, and closed the very same day for $2,622,000. If that’s not enough, the 1,287 square foot pad had the month’s highest price per square foot at $2,037.30! Next up is Unit #605 at Q14 in Logan Circle. The 1,700 square foot loft home with three bedrooms and 2.5 baths is a modern masterpiece with a soaring open living area and floating stairs, framed by two stories of windows. The sales price of $1,849,900 also translates to the fourth-highest amount per square foot at $1,088.18.

Fifth place goes to Unit #E5 at Wardman Tower in Woodley Park. The expansive and well-appointed apartment with two bedrooms, 2.5 baths and 2,661 square feet of space sold for $1,750,000. There are just 32 residences in the landmark building. From six-inch wide oak herringbone floors to multiple private balconies, this unit spells style and grace. Our final honoree in this category is Unit #248 at Gaslight Square in Arlington’s Rosslyn community. The two-level penthouse with direct elevator access and 18-foot ceilings sold for $1,489,900. With two bedrooms, 2.5 baths and a 1,882 square foot layout, the residence sports blonde hardwood floors, an open gourmet kitchen, floating iron stairs and a private roof deck.
