Unit #PH104 at the very modern Westlight in the West End grabbed the highest price per square foot honors in July at $1,238.30 per sq. ft. The 1,603 square foot penthouse was also the sixth highest overall sales price at $1,985,000. With two bedrooms and two baths, the apartment has an open and airy ambience, with pale wide-plank wood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows and lots of natural light. Second place goes to Unit #606 at VIO at The Wharf. The 1,670 square foot flat with two bedrooms and two baths sold for $1,800,000, translating to $1,077.844 per sq. ft. The stylish apartment boasts hardwood floors and a completely open Euro-style kitchen that seems to blend into the walls. Giant windows and a private terrace offer views of the Washington Channel and boat slips. The Wharf is the new reimagining of the shoreline in the Southwest Waterfront, with a promenade, restaurants, live entertainment, shops and other attractions.

The third-highest price per square foot goes to Unit #5K at 22 West in the West End neighborhood. The 1,927 square foot apartment with two bedrooms and 2.5 baths sold for $2,053,555 or $1,065.67 per square ft. It was also the fifth highest sales price for the month. The popular building was awarded the 2009 RADA Grand Award for Best Multifamily Design in the United States. Next on the list is Unit #2108 at Turnberry Tower in Rosslyn. The luxe penthouse with two bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a den and a 2,039 sq. ft. layout sold for $2,075,000, translating to $1,017.66 per square foot. Features include direct elevator access, marble tile floors and a sweeping balcony with views of the Potomac River.

Unit #314 at Logan Station in the Logan Circle neighborhood nabs two honors in July. The two-level penthouse with 1,600 square feet of living space sold for $1,140,000 which was $15K over asking. Its price per square foot was $1,005.29 which ranks fifth for the month, while the list-to-sales ratio ranks second. The city home has two bedrooms, 2.5 baths, an office and two private outdoor terraces. Closing things out is Unit #405 at The Lauren in downtown Bethesda. The elegant two-bedroom, two-bath apartment with 1,450 sq. ft. of space sold for $1,400,000, or $965.52 per square foot. Features include an open floorplan with custom built-ins and a marble fireplace, as well as a private outdoor terrace.
