Offering exceptional luxury and an ideal location, Turnberry Tower soars high above the Potomac River in Arlington’s popular Rosslyn neighborhood. The glittering building with its sleek curvilinear shape is part of the global Turnberry brand, long known for exceptional destination places. This particular location is a perennial favorite in the Washington Metro area, offering full service amenities and some of the best views around. The building’s popularity of can sometimes result in a low number of availabilities, however. Such is the case currently, with just two active condos and no new listings in December.

Unit #1002 is currently offered at $1,680,000. This F-Model offers two bedrooms, a den that works nicely as a home office or library, 2.5 baths and a 2,227 square foot layout. A private elevator open to a foyer Step with marble tile floors. The large living areas are augmented by millwork and tray ceilings. There were two sales in December, starting with Unit #1612. After listing for $1,495,000, the two-bedroom, two-bath condo closed at $1,440,000. But the real topping on the cake is a sweeping balcony with unobstructed views of the Potomac River, Key Bridge, and all the way across to Georgetown.

The other December closing was Unit #1807. Initially listed at $1,030,000, the apartment ended up selling over the asking price, at $1,050,000. The large one-bedroom residence boasts a bonus den/office, two full baths and 1,405 square feet of living space. Cocoa colored hardwood floors run throughout the roomy condo. Other features include a huge private balcony with Potomac River views, an open kitchen Snaidero cabinetry, Miele and Sub-Zero appliances, and elegant marble baths.

Also worth noting is the temporary removal of Unit #2311 from active status on MLS. This spectacular penthouse had been offered at $3.3 million, with three bedrooms, 3.5 baths and a 3,278 square foot floorplan. Features include a private elevator, a large foyer, custom wall treatments and a massive open living area with full height built-ins and giant window walls. A wraparound private terrace offers stunning panoramic views of the Potomac River. We’ll keep tabs on this one, to see if and when it returns to the marketplace.

Turnberry Tower is known for its amenities and accommodating service, with a staffed front desk, concierge service, and complimentary valet parking. There’s also a heated indoor swimming pool in an atrium-like setting, a lounge with bar and billiards, a screening room with catering kitchen, and secure parking. Once known as a wild and woolly waterfront with a ferry landing and gambling halls, historic Rosslyn has become a modern live, work and play mecca. The “Gateway to Arlington” is the first of five trendy urban villages along the Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor, each with its own Metro station.
