The 5,503 square foot Georgetown penthouse actually listed for an astronomical $18 million about a year ago, before coming back to earth with a reduction down to $14,500,000. The ultimate sales price was still out of this world! The swanky two-level residence with its curved staircase has three bedrooms and 3.5 baths, plus multiple living spaces, an office, a gym, and a massive roof deck featuring point-blank views of the Potomac River. It also captured top honors in the price per square foot category at $1,998.81. The second-highest sales price goes to Unit #PH-C at Wardman Tower in Woodley Park. The three-bedroom, 3.5-bath penthouse with 4,532 square feet of interior space sold for $5,500,000. The stunning historic residence with its library, den, showcase kitchen and roof deck, also took fourth place in the size category at $1,213.59 per square foot.
The third-highest closing is Unit #PH19B at Somerset House in Chevy Chase. The elegant penthouse has parquet floors, three bedrooms, 4.5 baths, a library with fireplace, a den, a family room, a sitting room, and a large roof deck. It sold for $4,750,000. Next up is a unit without an advertised apartment number at the brand-new Pierce building in Rosslyn. The 2,289 square foot penthouse with two bedrooms and two baths, is a presale that sold quietly with zero days on market, for $2,848,000.
Fifth place goes to Unit #715 at CityCenterDC in Mount Vernon Triangle. The open and very airy two-bedroom apartment with 1,557 square feet of living space, as well as an incredible landscaped Sky Terrace, sold for $2,300,000. It also takes second place honors in the price per sq. ft. contest at $1,467.77. Our final entry is Unit #PH202 at Ten Ten Mass in DC’s downtown Mount Vernon Triangle. The two-bedroom, two-bath penthouse with a private rooftop deck sold for $2,000,000 after listing for $2,100,000.
