Top honors in the highest sales price category for October goes to Unit #505 at Muse in Old Town Alexandria. The recently completed building is part of Alexandria’s Art Corridor and is also home to the new Metro Stage Theater. The three-bedroom, 3.5-bath residence with a 2,639 square foot floorplan sold for $3,000,000. It boasts an open layout, wide plank floors, giant windows, and a custom kitchen with panelized appliances. Unit #101/102 at the venerable Watergate in Foggy Bottom captures second place with a $2,300,000 closing. The 4,235 square foot cooperative residence is the result of combining two side-by-side duplexes. With five bedrooms, five full and two half baths, as well as two kitchens, this mid-century modern residence with its giant terrace also had the fourth-highest list to sales ratio at 102.27 percent.
Coming in third, Unit #1007 at Somerset House in Chevy Chase sold for $1,800,000. The luxurious corner residence in the gated Parc Somerset community with its country club style amenities, has two bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a den/library, and 2,441 square feet of sunny living space. The southern exposure allows for glorious sunsets from an expansive private balcony. Fourth place goes to Unit #327 at Gaslight Square in Arlington’s Rosslyn neighborhood. This two-story penthouse with two bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 1,922 sq. ft. of living space and direct elevator access to each level, sold for $1,600,000, also nabbing fourth place in the price per size category at $832.47 per square foot.
Unit #517 at The Columbia in Washington’s West End community takes home fifth place with a closing price of $1,534,076. It is also the third highest in the list to sales contest, at 102.61 percent. Closing out the highest sales prices is Unit #3A at The Carthage in Kalorama. This elegant Beaux Arts building with its distinctive curved façade is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The 2,000 square foot apartment with two bedrooms and 2.5 baths sold for $1,260,000.
