The top sales price for a Washington DC area condominium in May was Unit #PH3A at the exclusive Ritz-Carlton West End. The spectacular duplex penthouse has 3,378 square feet of living space, 3-bedrooms, 4 designer baths, custom wall treatments, a very modern brushed steel kitchen as well as an additional catering kitchen, a library and a huge showcase private roof deck. This city home in the sky closed for $3.5 million.

Coming in second is another lofty penthouse, this time across the river at Turnberry Tower in Rosslyn. Unit #PH2109 has 3-bedrooms, 2.5-baths, 2,655 square feet of living space, a private elevator and multiple balconies with views of the Potomac and Key Bridge. The sales price was $2.6 million. Third place in May goes to Unit #3D at 22 West in Washington’s West End neighborhood. The closing price of $1,860,000 was $35,000 over the $1,825,000 asking price! Fifth place goes to Unit #403 at Hampden Row in Bethesda and a closing price of $1,499,581. The lovely 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath flat has wide-plank hardwood floors, a modern open kitchen with stainless steel appliances, luxurious baths and a balcony. Plus, it’s steps from Bethesda Row’s trendy shops, restaurants and entertainment. Our final entry is Unit #51 at Dumbarton Place in Dupont Circle. The spacious 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath residence with 1,756 square feet of living space sold for full price at $1,495,000. The new owners can dine in a lovely sun room overlooking the park!
