Turnberry Tower is not only luxurious, it is also the tallest residential building in Washington Metro. The curvilinear condominium tower was designed by noted architect Robert M. Swerdroe and is located in the Rosslyn waterfront neighborhood in Arlington. Apartments facing north, east and southeast offer some of the best Potomac River views in the region. The building’s popularity, however, can sometimes result in a shortage of new listings. Such was the case in November with no new units coming to market. Fortunately, there are still some active listings remaining from previous months.
Unit #1902 came to market in October. The 19th floor penthouse is priced at $2,998,000, with 3-bedrooms, 3.5-baths and a den/office that can be used as a fourth bedroom. Also offering a recent price drop is Unit #1910, previously listed at $2,349,000 but now available for $2,279,500. The 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath apartment with 2,405 square feet of space includes a den which can function as a third bedroom. Other features include striking new hardwood floors, an expansive curved wall of floor-to-ceiling windows and what is described as the largest terrace in the building featuring panoramic views of the city, river and monuments. You can toss in a wonderful gourmet kitchen, spa-style baths, walk-in laundry and two private parking spaces!
Unit #1509 went under contract with contingencies in November. The spacious 1-bedroom, 2-bath plus den residence with 1,642 square feet of living space had been listed for $1,299,000. This unique residence boasts a private elevator, custom wall treatments, walnut herringbone floors, intricate lattice-beam ceilings, a balcony with river views and a gourmet kitchen with Sub-Zero and Miele appliances.
There was one closing in November. Unit #TS01 is a spectacular penthouse tower suite that listed for $4,995,000 and sold for $4,750,000. The 4,447 square foot triplex residence was renovated by architect Salo Levinas and offers 3-en suite bedrooms, 4.5-baths in total, three levels of living space, a spectacular modern kitchen and multiple private terraces offering unparalleled views of the Potomac River and beyond.
Turnberry Tower has tons of amenities, including a staffed front desk with concierge, heated indoor swimming pool, fitness center, screening room with catering kitchen and secure parking. The Rosslyn Metro is within easy strolling distance. The waterfront community is known as the gateway to Arlington, as well as the first stop along and the trendy Rosslyn-Ballston corridor—a series of five urban villages, each with its own dedicated Metro station, not to mention shops and restaurants galore!
