The winner of February’s highest price per square foot contest is Unit #901 at Amaris in the Southwest Waterfront. The brand new 3,430 square foot apartment with three bedrooms and 4.5 baths also nabs the highest overall sales price, closing at $6,552,500 which equals a very robust $1,910.35 per square foot. The building with its cold-warped glass façade is part of Washington’s newest waterfront destination place, The Wharf. Second place goes to Unit #212 at 2501 M in the West End neighborhood. The 1,340 square foot flat with two bedrooms and 2.5 baths was also the sixth-highest overall sale, closing at $1,750,000 which equals $1,305.97 per square foot. Among the many features is a huge private terrace with plenty of room for entertaining.

Unit #741 at The Columbia in the West End had the third-highest price per square foot at $1,072.35 and was also the sixth highest in the list to sales category, selling for the full asking price of $1,395,000. The Columbia was formerly a world-renowned women’s hospital with roots dating back to the Civil War. Today, the highly popular condo community offers tons of amenities, including an on-site Trader Joe’s. Unit #31 at Dumbarton Place in Dupont Circle captures the fourth highest price per square foot at $1,062.07 as well as the fifth highest overall sales price at $1,865,000. The two-bedroom, 2.5-bath apartment offers 1,803 square feet of living space, as well as a glass enclosed solarium.

Unit #412 at 525 Water Street in Georgetown has the fifth highest price per square foot at $1,045.78.
